چکیده

The following paper contains an account of further experiments on the reaction occurring between amino acids and a mixture of pyridine and acetic anhydride. It may be recalled that it was shown in our first paper (1) that a typical a-amino acid on being warmed with acetic anhydride and pyridine was converted into an acetylaminoacetone derivative with evolution of carbon dioxide. A P-ketonic acid was assumed to be an intermediate product.
